Interpretative Plans & Content Development—the nuts-and-bolts of interpretation

At Touring the Past, we believe that interpretation should be about people and ideas rather than the newest technological fad. Yet we are also aware that 'the medium can be the message'. The crafting of powerful thematic messages must work in tandem with good design if they are to permeate and engage the imagination.

We work in-house or in partnership with multi-disciplinary designers and fabricators to craft content and products that create experiences, stimulate conservations across culture and generations and hone a distinctive sense of place.

Sometimes referred to as Interpretation Plans, this phase is all about fleshing out ideas via research-based interpretive writing and design to create the panels and signs, digital media, artwork, publications, tours, exhibitions and reconstructed historic elements that contribute to memorable visitor/user experiences of heritage sites.
